Hapn ships with 18 built-in reports. This page is the reference for all of them: what each one answers, exactly which columns it shows, which extra columns you can switch on, and what you can filter by. If you are trying to work out "which report has the field I need?", start here.
Applies to: the Hapn web app (Reports) and the Hapn mobile app (Menu → Reports) · all account types. Some reports only return data for trackers that report the underlying signal — a battery-powered tracker with no ignition connection won't appear in engine or idling reports, for example.
The controls every report has
On the web, all 18 reports share the same toolbar:
- Filters — narrow the rows. Each report exposes its own filter set (listed per report below). A few reports have none.
- Columns — switch columns on and off. Reset restores that report's defaults.
- Schedule — email the report on a recurring basis.
- Export CSV — download what's currently on screen.
- Explore with Scout — open Scout alongside the report. Scout is handed the report you're looking at and the date range you've set (you'll see a line like “Scout can see: Speeding Report · Sep 16 – Sep 23, 2026”), so you can ask it to summarise the results or explain what stands out without re-describing the data.
On the mobile app: open reports from Menu → Reports, where they're grouped under All, Tracker, Asset and Alert tabs. Inside a report, Filters and Columns are combined under the sliders icon (Manage view) in the bar at the bottom, next to the alarm clock icon (Schedule) and the download icon (Export CSV). Explore with Scout isn't in the mobile report bar. Custom and scheduled reports are under My Reports at the top right, on the Custom and Scheduled tabs.
How the Columns picker works
Open Columns and you'll see every column the report supports, each with a toggle. Columns that are on by default are already toggled on; anything toggled off is an optional column you can add.
Three things worth knowing:
- Your CSV matches your screen. A column you've switched off is left out of Export CSV too, so turn on what you need before exporting.
- Choices are per report. Turning on a column in one report doesn't change any other report.
- Many reports have no optional columns. Only six of the eighteen have columns that are off by default — they're called out below. If a report isn't in that group, what you see is all it offers, and a Custom Report is the way to get more fields.
Reports that ask you to pick something first
Four reports open on a picker instead of a table, because they analyse one thing at a time:
- Place Analysis — pick a place.
- Tracker Place Analysis — pick a tracker.
- Time-Based Activity Analysis — pick a tracker.
- Starter Interrupt Activity Log — pick a tracker.
The toolbar only appears once you've chosen. To switch subjects, click the name shown next to Reports in the toolbar.
Tracker Reports
Place Analysis
Every visit your fleet made to one place, over a date range. Pick a place first.
Columns: Tracker · Entry Time · Exit Time · Duration. No optional columns.
Filters: Tracker.
Tracker Place Analysis
The mirror image: every place one tracker visited. Pick a tracker first.
Columns: Place · Entry Time · Exit Time · Duration · Status. No optional columns.
Filters: Place · Entry Time · Exit Time · Duration · Status (Inside / Outside).
Tracker Positions
The raw ping log — every position report, newest first.
Columns on by default: Tracker · Date · Location · Coordinates · Speed · Odometer · Battery · External Power.
Optional columns you can add: External Battery · Latitude · Longitude.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Tracker · Date · Location · Speed · Odometer · Battery · External Power.
There is no ignition column in this report. For ignition on/off history, see Seeing When a Vehicle's Ignition Turned On and Off.
Tracker Status and Health
One row per device, for checking what's online, what's flat and what's gone quiet.
Columns on by default: Tracker · IMEI · Device Type · Connectivity · Battery · Last Ping · Location · Mode · Actions.
Optional columns you can add: Current Odometer · Active Hours · Ignition Status.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Tracker · IMEI · Device Type · Connectivity · Battery · Last Ping · Location · Mode.
Battery history charts. This report is the only place in Hapn with a battery history graph, and it's on the web app only. Hover over any row's Battery reading and a small open icon (an arrow pointing out of a square) appears next to the percentage — click it to open a Battery History window plotting that tracker's charge level over time. The window is labelled with the tracker's IMEI, opens on the last 3 months, and has range buttons for 1M, 3M, 6M, YTD, 1Y and All.
The icon only appears on rows that report a battery percentage — battery-powered trackers. Hardwired and OBD trackers draw from the vehicle, so they show no battery percentage and no chart. Use it to tell a tracker that is genuinely running flat from one that dropped suddenly because it was unplugged, moved out of coverage, or stopped reporting.
Starter Interrupt Activity Log
Every starter-interrupt state change for one tracker — who disabled or re-enabled the vehicle, when, and where. Pick a tracker first.
Columns: Asset Name · Tracker Name · Timestamp · Location · Change To · Duration. No optional columns.
Filters: Timestamp · Location · Change To.
Asset Reports
Trip and Stop History
Trips and stops across the fleet, in one list.
Columns: Type · Tracker · Start Date · Start Address · End Date · End Address · Distance · Duration. No optional columns.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Type · Tracker · Start Date · Distance · Duration.
Asset Activity Overview
One row per asset summarising how much it was used over the period.
Columns on by default: Tracker · Active Days · Total Active Hours · Start Active Hours · End Active Hours · Moving Days · Total Moving Hours · Distance Driven · Start Odometer · End Odometer.
Optional columns you can add: Total Distance Covered · Date Range.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Tracker.
Time-Based Activity Analysis
The same activity measures as above, but broken into periods for a single asset, so you can see a trend rather than a total. Pick a tracker first.
Columns on by default: Period · Total Active Hours · Start Active Hours · End Active Hours · Total Moving Hours · Distance Driven · Start Odometer · End Odometer.
Optional columns you can add: Total Distance Covered · Date range.
Filters: Total Active Hours · Start Active Hours · End Active Hours · Total Moving Hours · Distance Driven · Start Odometer · End Odometer.
Equipment Telematics Status Report
The widest column picker in Hapn: 21 columns, 8 on by default. If you're looking for a vehicle-data field, look here first.
Columns on by default: Name · Device Type · VIN Number · Location · Ignition · Voltage · Speed · Check Engine.
Optional columns you can add: Total Odometer · Fuel Level (%) · Engine RPM · Engine Work Time · Engine Temperature · DTC Faults · Oil Level · Idling · Last Update · Asset Type · Status · Fuel Consumption · MIL Status.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Name · Device Type · VIN Number · Location · Ignition · Voltage · Speed · Check Engine.
DTC Fault Code Report
Open engine fault codes across the fleet and how long each has been active.
Columns: Name · Asset Type · Location · DTC Code · Active Since · Days Active. No optional columns.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Name · Asset Type · Location · DTC Code · Active Since · Days Active.
Mileage/Kilometers by state/province
Hapn's mileage report, and the one to use for mileage reporting. It shows how far each vehicle travelled over the date range, grouped by state or province: each group lists the trackers that drove there and the distance each covered, and summary cards at the top show the total distance and number of trackers. A vehicle that stayed in one state appears once, so the report doubles as a simple mileage total per vehicle; one that crossed borders appears under each state, which is what jurisdiction-based reporting such as IFTA needs. Formerly called the Distance Report; only the name has changed.
Columns: State/Province · Name · IMEI · Distance. No optional columns.
Filters: State/Province · Name · IMEI · Distance.
Daily Mileage
How far each vehicle drove on each day. Four tiles across the top — Assets on vehicle trackers, Total distance for the range, Avg per asset / day, and Assets with no activity across the whole range — then two charts: Daily Fleet Miles (the fleet total per day, with today shown as in progress) and Asset Ranking (switch between Most used and Least used). Below them is a grid: one row per vehicle, one column per day, with a fleet total row at the bottom. See Using the Daily Mileage Report.
Columns: Asset Name · Serial/VIN · Total, then one column for each day in the date range you've selected, each with its own toggle in the Columns panel. Optional column you can add: Date range.
Filters: Asset Name · Serial/VIN · Total.
Daily Active Hours
Four tiles across the top — Assets reporting active hours, Total active hours for the range, Avg per asset / day, and Assets with no activity across the whole range — then two charts: Daily Fleet Active Hours (the fleet total per day, with today shown as in progress) and Asset Ranking (switch between Most used and Least used). Below them is a grid: one row per asset, one column per day, sized so a week fits without scrolling sideways.
Columns: Asset Name · Serial/VIN · Active Hours Total, then one column for each day in the date range you've selected. Each day has its own toggle in the Columns panel, so you can hide days you don't care about.
Filters: Asset Name.
Idling Time
Same grid shape, measuring idle hours instead.
Columns: Asset Name · Serial/VIN · Idle Time Total, then one column per day in the range.
Filters: Asset Name.
Engine Runtime
Total engine hours per asset for the period — the figure maintenance schedules are usually built on.
Columns: Asset Name · Asset ID · Location · Engine Runtime. No optional columns.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status.
Vehicle Odometer
Every vehicle that reports an odometer. With All time selected it shows each vehicle's current odometer reading; with any other date range it shows the distance each odometer added over that range. A Stale tag marks vehicles that haven't sent a reading for a while. Battery asset trackers have no vehicle odometer and aren't listed. See Vehicle Odometer report.
Columns: Asset Name · VIN · Odometer · Last Reported · Location. Optional column you can add: Date range.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status.
Speeding Report
Speeding events per asset, bucketed by how far over the limit they were. Switch to All events for one row per speeding event, which you can filter, export and schedule. See Understanding the Speeding Report.
Columns: Asset Name · Time Over Limit · Max Speed · Total Events · Low (1–5 mph) · Medium (6–10 mph) · Severe (11+ mph) · Location. No optional columns.
Filters: Tracker · Time Over Limit · Max Speed · Total Events · Low · Medium · Severe.
All events view: Date & Time · Vehicle · Severity · Speed · Posted Limit · Over Limit · Duration · Location; filter by Tracker and severity.
Driving Behavior Report
A per-driver-style scorecard built from harsh-event counts. Switch to All events for one row per event (harsh accel, brake, cornering, speeding, crash), which you can filter, export and schedule. See Understanding the Driving Behavior Report.
Columns on by default: Asset Name · Serial/VIN · Score · Harsh Accel · Harsh Brake · Harsh Corner · Speeding · Total Events.
Optional columns you can add: Distance Driven · Date range · Score band.
Filters: Asset Name · Tracker · Score · Harsh Accel · Harsh Brake · Harsh Corner · Speeding · Total Events.
All events view: Date & Time · Vehicle · Event Type · Severity · Speed · Location; filter by Tracker, event type and severity.
Fleet Utilization
Which assets are earning their keep, measured against a benchmark for their class.
Columns: Asset · Class · Engine Hours · Utilization % · vs Benchmark (pts) · Days Since Activity · Status. No optional columns.
Filters: Asset · Class · Engine Hours · Utilization % · Days Since Activity · Status (Healthy / Below Benchmark / Non-Utilized).
An asset is counted as Non-Utilized after no activity for 5 or more days.
Alert Reports
Alerts Feed
Every alert your account has fired, in one searchable list.
Columns: Tracker · Type · Details · Date · Location. No optional columns.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Tracker · Type · Date · Location.
This is also where Hapn keeps an ignition history: with the Ignition On and Ignition Off alerts set up, filter Type to those two and export. It's the only way to get a log of ignition events — Seeing When a Vehicle's Ignition Turned On and Off.
Scheduling any of these by email
Click Schedule on any report (on the mobile app, tap the alarm clock icon). You'll be asked for a Name (which becomes the email's subject line), a Message of up to 1,000 characters, Recipients as comma-separated email addresses, a Frequency — Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly — and a Time of Day. Send times use your organisation's timezone, not each recipient's. Scheduled reports are listed on the Scheduled Reports tab of the Reports page on the web, and under My Reports → Scheduled on the mobile app.
The column you want isn't in any of these
Build a Custom Report instead. The custom report builder exposes a much larger field list — around 49 columns across 8 groups for trackers and assets — and lets you save the result and schedule it like any built-in report.
Two fields people often look for and won't find anywhere: there is no tracker description column in any report, built-in or custom, and Place Analysis reports on visits rather than on device attributes, so it can't list per-device detail beyond the tracker name.
