Hapn ships with 18 built-in reports. This page is the reference for all of them: what each one answers, exactly which columns it shows, which extra columns you can switch on, and what you can filter by. If you are trying to work out "which report has the field I need?", start here.
Applies to: the Hapn web app (Reports) · all account types. Some reports only return data for trackers that report the underlying signal — a battery-powered tracker with no ignition connection won't appear in engine or idling reports, for example.
The four controls every report has
All 18 reports share the same toolbar:
- Filters — narrow the rows. Each report exposes its own filter set (listed per report below). A few reports have none.
- Columns — switch columns on and off. Reset restores that report's defaults.
- Schedule — email the report on a recurring basis.
- Export CSV — download what's currently on screen.
How the Columns picker works
Open Columns and you'll see every column the report supports, each with a toggle. Columns that are on by default are already toggled on; anything toggled off is an optional column you can add.
Three things worth knowing:
- Your CSV matches your screen. A column you've switched off is left out of Export CSV too, so turn on what you need before exporting.
- Choices are per report. Turning on a column in one report doesn't change any other report.
- Many reports have no optional columns. Only six of the eighteen have columns that are off by default — they're called out below. If a report isn't in that group, what you see is all it offers, and a Custom Report is the way to get more fields.
Reports that ask you to pick something first
Four reports open on a picker instead of a table, because they analyse one thing at a time:
- Place Analysis — pick a place.
- Tracker Place Analysis — pick a tracker.
- Time-Based Activity Analysis — pick a tracker.
- Starter Interrupt Activity Log — pick a tracker.
The toolbar only appears once you've chosen. To switch subjects, click the name shown next to Reports in the toolbar.
Tracker Reports
Place Analysis
Every visit your fleet made to one place, over a date range. Pick a place first.
Columns: Tracker · Entry Time · Exit Time · Duration. No optional columns.
Filters: Tracker.
Tracker Place Analysis
The mirror image: every place one tracker visited. Pick a tracker first.
Columns: Place · Entry Time · Exit Time · Duration · Status. No optional columns.
Filters: Place · Entry Time · Exit Time · Duration · Status (Inside / Outside).
Tracker Positions
The raw ping log — every position report, newest first.
Columns on by default: Tracker · Date · Location · Coordinates · Speed · Odometer · Battery · External Power.
Optional columns you can add: External Battery · Latitude · Longitude.

Tracker Status and Health
One row per device, for checking what's online, what's flat and what's gone quiet.

Starter Interrupt Activity Log
Every starter-interrupt state change for one tracker — who disabled or re-enabled the vehicle, when, and where. Pick a tracker first.
Columns: Asset Name · Tracker Name · Timestamp · Location · Change To · Duration. No optional columns.
Filters: Timestamp · Location · Change To.
Asset Reports
Trip and Stop History
Trips and stops across the fleet, in one list.
Columns: Type · Tracker · Start Date · Start Address · End Date · End Address · Distance · Duration. No optional columns.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Type · Tracker · Start Date · Distance · Duration.
Asset Activity Overview
One row per asset summarising how much it was used over the period.
Columns on by default: Tracker · Active Days · Total Active Hours · Start Active Hours · End Active Hours · Moving Days · Total Moving Hours · Distance Driven · Start Odometer · End Odometer.
Optional columns you can add: Total Distance Covered · Date Range.

Time-Based Activity Analysis
The same activity measures as above, but broken into periods for a single asset, so you can see a trend rather than a total. Pick a tracker first.
Columns on by default: Period · Total Active Hours · Start Active Hours · End Active Hours · Total Moving Hours · Distance Driven · Start Odometer · End Odometer.
Optional columns you can add: Total Distance Covered · Date range.

Equipment Telematics Status Report
The widest column picker in Hapn: 21 columns, 8 on by default. If you're looking for a vehicle-data field, look here first.
Columns on by default: Name · Device Type · VIN Number · Location · Ignition · Voltage · Speed · Check Engine.
Optional columns you can add: Total Odometer · Fuel Level (%) · Engine RPM · Engine Work Time · Engine Temperature · DTC Faults · Oil Level · Idling · Last Update · Asset Type · Status · Fuel Consumption · MIL Status.

DTC Fault Code Report
Open engine fault codes across the fleet and how long each has been active.
Columns: Name · Asset Type · Location · DTC Code · Active Since · Days Active. No optional columns.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Name · Asset Type · Location · DTC Code · Active Since · Days Active.
Distance Report
Distance travelled broken out by state or province — the report to use for IFTA-style mileage questions.
Columns: State/Province · Name · IMEI · Distance. No optional columns.
Filters: State/Province · Name · IMEI · Distance.
Daily Active Hours
A grid rather than a list: one row per asset, one column per day.
Columns: Asset Name · Serial/VIN · Active Hours Total, then one column for each day in the date range you've selected. Each day has its own toggle in the Columns panel, so you can hide days you don't care about.
Filters: Asset Name.
Idling Time
Same grid shape, measuring idle hours instead.
Columns: Asset Name · Serial/VIN · Idle Time Total, then one column per day in the range.
Filters: Asset Name.
Engine Runtime
Total engine hours per asset for the period — the figure maintenance schedules are usually built on.
Columns: Asset Name · Asset ID · Location · Engine Runtime. No optional columns.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status.
Speeding Report
Speeding events per asset, bucketed by how far over the limit they were.
Columns: Asset Name · Time Over Limit · Max Speed · Total Events · Low (1–5 mph) · Medium (6–10 mph) · Severe (11+ mph) · Location. No optional columns.
Filters: none. Opening the Filters panel shows "No filterable columns in this report" — use the date range and the asset selection instead.
Driving Behavior Report
A per-driver-style scorecard built from harsh-event counts.
Columns on by default: Asset Name · Serial/VIN · Score · Harsh Accel · Harsh Brake · Harsh Corner · Speeding · Total Events.
Optional columns you can add: Distance Driven · Date range · Score band.
Filters: Asset Name.
Fleet Utilization
Which assets are earning their keep, measured against a benchmark for their class.
Columns: Asset · Class · Engine Hours · Utilization % · vs Benchmark (pts) · Days Since Activity · Status. No optional columns.
Filters: Asset · Class · Engine Hours · Utilization % · Days Since Activity · Status (Healthy / Below Benchmark / Non-Utilized).
An asset is counted as Non-Utilized after no activity for 5 or more days.
Alert Reports
Alerts Feed
Every alert your account has fired, in one searchable list.
Columns: Tracker · Type · Details · Date · Location. No optional columns.
Filters: Tags · User groups · Asset profile status · Tracker · Type · Date · Location.
Scheduling any of these by email
Click Schedule on any report. You'll be asked for a Name (which becomes the email's subject line), a Message of up to 1,000 characters, Recipients as comma-separated email addresses, a Frequency — Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly — and a Time of Day. Send times use your organisation's timezone, not each recipient's. Scheduled reports are listed on the Scheduled Reports tab of the Reports page.
The column you want isn't in any of these
Build a Custom Report instead. The custom report builder exposes a much larger field list — around 49 columns across 8 groups for trackers and assets — and lets you save the result and schedule it like any built-in report.
Two fields people often look for and won't find anywhere: there is no tracker description column in any report, built-in or custom, and Place Analysis reports on visits rather than on device attributes, so it can't list per-device detail beyond the tracker name.
