Your account menu sits at the bottom of the left sidebar, and Logout is the only thing in it.
Applies to: the Hapn web app at app.gethapn.com and the Hapn mobile app.
Logging out on the web
- Look at the bottom of the left sidebar, where your name, company and email address appear.
- Select that row. It expands upward.
- Select Logout.
If the sidebar is collapsed to just icons, you'll see a round avatar with your initial at the bottom instead. Expand the sidebar using the panel icon just above it, or select the avatar directly.
You'll land back on the sign-in screen. Getting back in takes your email and password — see How to Log In to Your Hapn Account.
Logging out on your phone
The mobile app works the same way: Logout lives in your account menu, alongside your name and email. The app and the web app are the same account, but they're separate sessions — logging out of one doesn't log you out of the other.
On a shared or public computer
Always log out rather than just closing the tab. Closing the browser doesn't reliably end the session, so the next person on that machine may find your fleet still on screen.
If you've already walked away and can't get back to the machine, changing your password is the fastest thing you can do — see below.
If you think someone else is in your account
This is the important one, and the answer isn't what people expect.
Hapn has no "sign out of all devices" control. There's no session list in Settings, and logging out on your own computer does nothing to a session open somewhere else.
If a phone has been lost or stolen, or you believe someone has your password, change your password — that's the lever you have. Go to Settings → Account, and use Password under Login & Contact. Full steps in How to Change or Reset Your Password.
If more than one person is using a single login, that's worth fixing separately: everyone who needs access should have their own, so you can see who did what and control what each person sees. See Managing Users on Your Hapn Account.
What logging out does not do
Logging out only ends your session in the app. It has no effect on your service or your hardware:
- Your trackers keep reporting. They report to Hapn over cellular; they have nothing to do with whether you're signed in. Everything that happens while you're logged out is waiting for you when you come back.
- Your alerts keep firing. Emails and texts carry on arriving. If the reason you're logging out is that Hapn is sending you too much, that's a different fix — see Getting Too Many Alert Emails? How to Reduce or Stop Them.
- Your billing continues. Logging out is not cancelling. To stop paying you have to cancel or pause the plan — see How to Cancel Your Service Plan or How to Temporarily Pause Your GPS Service.
- Live Links you've shared keep working. They're designed to work without a Hapn account, so they don't depend on your session. To stop one, revoke the link itself — see Using Live Links.
- Scheduled reports keep being emailed on their schedule.
Switching between accounts
Hapn signs you into one account at a time, so moving between two accounts means logging out of the first. If you do it often, a second browser profile or a private window lets you keep both open at once without the back-and-forth.
Deleting your account is something else entirely
Settings → Account has a Delete my account data option at the bottom, under Account Deletion. That permanently removes your account and its data — it is not a way to log out, and it can't be undone. See How to Delete Your Account.
