This guide explains how to reset your password if you're locked out of your account, and how to change your password when you're already logged in.
Resetting your password when locked out
If you've forgotten your password or can't log in, you'll reset it with a verification code sent to your email. The whole process happens on two screens.
- Start the reset. Go to app.gethapn.com and click the Forgot Password link below the login form (or go straight to app.gethapn.com/account/forgotpassword). Enter the email address on your account and click Continue.
- Get your verification code. Check your email for a 6-digit code. The message comes from no-reply@verificationemail.com with the subject "Your verification code" — it won't show up under "Hapn," so search for that sender if you don't see it right away, and check your spam or junk folder. The code usually arrives within a minute or two.
-
Enter the code and your new password. Back on the reset page (Step 2 of 2), type in the Verification Code, enter your New Password, and retype it under Confirm Password. Each password rule turns green as you meet it (see Password requirements below). Click Reset Password.
- Log in. Return to app.gethapn.com and sign in with your email and new password.
Changing your password while logged in
If you're already signed in and just want to change your password:
- Open Account settings. Go to Settings → Account from the menu on the left.
-
Start the change. Find your password field (shown as dots) and click Change next to it.
-
Enter your new password. Type your current password to verify it's you, then enter your new password and confirm it. Make sure it meets all the requirements below.
- Save. Click Save. You'll be logged out automatically — sign back in with your new password to confirm it works.
Password requirements
Your Hapn password must:
- Be at least 8 characters long
- Include at least one capital letter (A–Z)
- Include at least one lowercase letter (a–z)
- Include at least one number (0–9)
- Include at least one symbol (for example ! ? @ # $)
The New Password and Confirm Password fields also have to match before you can save.
Troubleshooting
Not receiving the verification code email?
- The email comes from no-reply@verificationemail.com, subject "Your verification code" — search your inbox for that sender, since it won't appear under "Hapn."
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Make sure you entered the correct email address for your account.
- Allow a few minutes for delivery, then request a new code if it still hasn't arrived.
"Invalid verification code" error?
- Enter the most recent code — if you requested more than one, older codes stop working.
- Check for typing errors, and avoid extra spaces if you copy and paste.
- If the code has expired, request a new one and use it right away.
Password not being accepted?
- Confirm it meets every requirement above — the most commonly missed one is the symbol.
- Check that Caps Lock isn't on.
- Make sure the New Password and Confirm Password fields match exactly.
Android users having trouble logging in?
- Make sure there are no spaces before or after your email address — autofill sometimes adds one. Try typing it manually.
