Your tracker records where it has been. This step shows you the two places that history lives, and which to use when.
Trips — start here
Go to Historical Tracking → Trips in the left sidebar.
Trips opens on your whole fleet for today. You get a summary line — how many trips, how many miles, how many alerts — and then one row per trip showing the route, the time, where it started and finished, the distance and the maximum speed reached.
The chips across the top are the fast filters: With alerts, With issues, Speeding, After hours and Over 5 mi. More filters opens the rest — alert type, tags, places, trip length, duration, speeding severity and time of day.
Use the date picker to move to another day.
Looking at one tracker
Choose a tracker from the picker at the top left — you can search by name or IMEI. Three useful things appear:
- Stops show up between the trips, each with the address, when it arrived, when it left, and how long it sat. Save as place turns a location you keep visiting into a proper place.
- A Long stops (30m+) filter.
- Export CSV, and the Time machine button.
Time Machine — a single day on the map
Time Machine draws one tracker's day on the map, with that day's totals beside it: distance, trips, places visited, stops, max speed, alerts, active hours, idle time and a utilization percentage.
Open it either way:
- From the Live Map — select the asset to enter follow mode, select History in the bar at the bottom, then Time machine.
- From Trips — pick the tracker, then select Time machine.
Inside, the Trips tab draws the day as connected routes; the Timeline tab draws every individual position report as a separate point. The date stepper moves you a day at a time, and Live returns you to the tracker's current position.
Following a tracker on the map
Selecting an asset on the Live Map puts you in follow mode: the map centres on it and draws its recent trail, and the panel on the left shows the odometer, ignition state, external voltage, reporting mode, active hours and when the next update is due. The bar at the bottom holds:
- Trips — this tracker's trips and stops.
- Rewind — opens Time Machine straight away, on the map.
- Spotlight — a temporary geofence around the asset where it stands now.
- History — the tracker's Trips list.
- Share Live and Settings.
Once you're in Time Machine, Chart replaces Rewind and Spotlight in that bar. It graphs Fuel across the day and gives the day's Idle time and Utilization figures — on vehicle trackers that report them.
If your tracker is battery-powered
Battery trackers reporting once a minute or slower do not generate trips — there's too much time between reports to draw a journey. Instead you'll see the individual pings, the panel will be labelled Pings rather than Trips, and the day will show 0 trips.
That's expected. Every position the tracker sent is still there. Trips need a faster reporting mode, which uses more battery — see Reporting Modes.
If you don't see what you expect
- Check the date, and clear any filters left from an earlier look.
- Check the tracker was powered and in coverage during the period.
- On a battery tracker, look for Pings rather than expecting trips.
