Introduction

Welcome to Hapn! Our tracking solution features two complementary applications designed for different aspects of asset management:

  • Mobile App: Optimized for real-time tracking and on-the-go monitoring
  • Web App: Designed for account customization, detailed reporting, and administrative tasks

This guide will help you understand when and how to use each app to get the most from your Hapn experience.

 

Mobile App: Your Real-Time Tracking Tool

The Hapn mobile app is your go-to solution for live tracking in real-time. It's designed for field use, providing immediate location updates and essential controls when you're on the move.

Downloading and Logging In

After activating your tracker, download the Hapn mobile app:

Log in using the credentials you created during tracker activation. For quicker access in the future on an iPhone, turn on Use FaceID (or Use TouchID) in the app under Menu → Settings → Account. Biometric login isn't available in the Android app.

 

Following Your Assets in Real Time

The mobile app excels at real-time tracking:

  1. Tap any tracker icon on the map to select it
  2. The app will enter "Follow Mode," keeping the selected tracker centered as it moves
  3. View the tracker card at the bottom for live details, including:
    • Current speed
    • Battery level
    • Last update time
    • Current address

Web App: Your Account Management Center

The web app at app.gethapn.com shows the same account on a bigger screen. The mobile app can do nearly everything the web app does — create places and alerts, manage users, run and schedule reports, change billing and settings — so the choice is about where you are rather than what you need to do.

Choosing the Right App for Your Needs

Use the mobile app in the field: following a moving asset, checking where something is, pulling up a tracker's history, or making a quick settings change.

Use the web app at a desk: long reports and exports, working across many trackers at once, and a few things that are only on the web, such as saving or sharing a filtered map view and adding custom map overlays.

Many customers keep the app on their phone for day-to-day tracking and open the web app for bigger jobs.
