Introduction
Alerts keep you informed about your tracker's location and activities in real time. Whether you need to know when assets arrive at important locations, exceed speed limits, or have low battery, Hapn's alert system has you covered.
Understanding Alert Types
Hapn offers several types of alerts to monitor your assets:
- Location and Movement Alerts — Notify you about asset location changes, place entry/exit, and movement patterns
- Tracker Status Alerts — Alert you about tracker connectivity, battery levels, and power source status
- Driver Safety Alerts — Warn you about speeding, harsh braking, rapid acceleration, and other driving behaviors
- Asset Status & Health Alerts — Inform you about engine health, fuel levels, maintenance needs, and operational status
- Security and Sensor Alerts — Notify you of tampering attempts or changes in environmental conditions
- Task Deadline Alerts — Remind you of scheduled tasks that are approaching or past their due date
- Telematics Alerts — Notify you when a vehicle or asset is running but not in motion
Each alert type can be customized to suit your specific needs.

Step 3: Save Your Alert
Click Save to activate your alert. It will now appear in your Alert Configuration list.
Managing Your Alerts
Editing or Deleting an Alert
- From the Alert Configuration page, locate the alert you want to manage
- Click the three dots (⋮) to the right of the alert name
- Select Edit, Duplicate, or Delete
- If editing, make your changes and click "Save"
Using Do Not Disturb Mode
When you need to temporarily silence notifications, use Do Not Disturb mode in the mobile app:
- Open the Hapn mobile app and tap the menu icon in the bottom right corner
- Under "Preferences," tap "Alerts and Notifications"
- Toggle "Do Not Disturb" on or off and tap "Save Changes"
While in Do Not Disturb mode, alerts will still be generated but notifications will be silenced on your mobile device. Email and SMS notifications will continue as normal. You can view all alert activity in your alert history at any time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many alerts can I create? There is no limit to the number of alerts you can create in your Hapn account.
Will receiving more alerts drain my tracker's battery? No, alerts are processed on our servers, not on the tracker itself, so they have no impact on battery life.
Can I set up different notification methods for different alerts? Yes, each alert can have its own notification channels. For example, you might want battery alerts via email but speeding alerts via SMS.
How can I see a history of past alerts? Go to the "Reports" section in the web app and select "Alert History" to view all past alerts with timestamps.
