The Locations page is the history view for trackers that don't record trips — usually battery trackers on a slow check-in mode. Instead of journeys, it lists every check-in the tracker sent: where it was, whether it was stopped or moving, and its battery level at the time.
Applies to: the Hapn web app at app.gethapn.com. On the mobile app, the same history is under History on the tracker's card — see How to View Your Tracker's Location History.
Open it
- In the left sidebar, point to Historical Tracking and select Locations. (Historical Tracking also holds Trips and the Media Library.)
- Pick a tracker from the picker at the top left. It lists only check-in trackers — trackers that don't record trips — with how many places and reports each had in the date range and when it last reported. You can search by name or IMEI. Trackers that do record trips are on the Trips page instead.
- Choose the dates with the date picker. It opens on Today.
What you see
- Summary tiles — Places (spots it stopped at, saved as a place or not), time Stopped, time Moving, the number of Reports, and Battery used with the current level.
- A day-by-day list of check-ins, each with the address (and the place name if it's one of your places), the time, and the battery level. Consecutive check-ins at the same spot are grouped — for example Stopped · 13 check-ins, 1:39 AM → 6:44 AM. Moving check-ins show the speed.
- Alerts that fired, such as Movement or Place Entry, shown against the check-in they belong to.
- Gaps — where the tracker didn't report for a while, the list says so (for example No reports 7:39 AM – 7:41 AM).
- Save as place on a stop turns that address into a place you can alert on.
Narrow it down
- With alerts — only check-ins that had an alert.
- After hours — only check-ins outside your business hours.
- Not in a place — only check-ins away from your saved places.
- Search address or place — find visits to a specific spot.
Map and export
- View timeline on map opens the same check-ins in Time Machine, drawn on the map. See Using Time Machine.
- Export CSV downloads the list.
Why no trips?
A battery tracker that checks in once a minute or less often doesn't generate trips — the reports are too far apart to draw a journey between them. Every position it sent is still there, which is what this page shows. If you need trips from that asset, it needs a faster reporting mode, which uses more battery. See Reporting Modes and Understanding and Managing the Generate Trips Feature.
