There are three ways to look at where a tracker has been, and picking the right one saves a lot of clicking. Which you want depends on whether you're reviewing a day, investigating a moment, or pulling numbers.

Trips — the fleet's history
Go to Historical Tracking → Trips. It opens on every tracker combined for today, with a summary line — trips, miles travelled, alerts, issues — and one row per trip showing the route, the time, the from and to addresses, distance and max speed.
Filter chips across the top cover the common questions: With alerts, With issues, Speeding, After hours, Over 5 mi. More filters adds alert type, tags, places, trip length, duration, speeding severity and time of day.
Select a single tracker and the view gets richer: stops appear between the trips with arrival and departure times and a Save as place button, a Long stops (30m+) chip appears, and you get a Calendar tab and Export CSV. Stops are hidden while you're looking at all trackers at once — the page tells you so.

Time Machine — one tracker, one day, on the map
Time Machine draws a single day's movement on the map with the day's totals beside it: distance, trips, places visited, stops, max speed, alerts, active hours, idle time and a utilization percentage.
It isn't a sidebar item any more. Open it from the tracker:
- On the Live Map, select the asset to enter follow mode.
- Select History in the bar at the bottom.
- Select Time machine.
Or from Historical Tracking → Trips, pick the tracker and select Time machine.
Inside, the Trips tab draws connected routes and the Timeline tab draws every individual ping as a separate point. Move between days with the date stepper — Time Machine works one day at a time.

Reports — the numbers
Reports are for totals, records and anything you need as a file or on a schedule. Trip and Stop History lists journeys; Tracker Positions gives raw position data; Distance Report gives mileage totals. All of them export to CSV and can be emailed on a schedule.

Battery trackers: pings, not trips
A battery-powered tracker reporting once a minute or slower produces no trips. The reports are too far apart for Hapn to draw a journey between them, so you get the individual pings instead — the tab is labelled Pings, the day shows 0 trips and 0 stops, and you'll see No trips found.
Nothing is missing: every position the tracker sent is there, as points rather than routes. Getting trips from that asset means a faster reporting mode, which costs battery life — see Reporting Modes.
OBD, hardwired and dash cam trackers draw power from the vehicle and report fast enough to generate trips normally.
How far back does it go?
Location history is kept for the life of your active subscription. Nothing is recorded for periods when a plan was paused or cancelled, and no history exists for times the tracker was powered off or out of coverage — Hapn can only show what the device managed to send.
Time Machine works a day at a time. For long stretches, use Reports, and export in chunks if a large range times out.
If a day looks empty
The usual causes, in the order worth checking:
- It's a battery tracker on a slow reporting mode — look for Pings rather than expecting trips. This is the most common one.
- The tracker was off or out of coverage that day.
- You're on the wrong date, or a filter from earlier is still applied.
- Generate Trips is switched off for that tracker — positions are still recorded, but they aren't assembled into trips. See Understanding and Managing the Generate Trips Feature.
