How to Filter the Live Map, and Save or Share a View – Hapn Help Center

The Live Map can be narrowed down to exactly the assets you care about — and once you have that view, you can send it to a colleague as a link or pin it to your sidebar so it's one click away tomorrow.

Find one asset

If you just want a single tracker, type its name into Find assets at the top of the list. Use the filters below when you want a group of assets instead.

Filter the map

Select Filters at the top of the page. Four groups are available:

Status — Moving, Stopped, Online, Offline, Not reporting.
Battery — Full, Normal, Low, Critical, Dead, Charging, Plugged.
Tags — every tag in your account, plus No tags for anything that hasn't been tagged yet.
Asset Status — On-Rent, Off-Rent, Out of Service, and any custom statuses your organization has added.

Tick as many as you like; they combine. As you do:

the number on the Filters button shows how many filters are active,
the Assets count at the top left updates to the number that match,
the map re-centres on what's left, and
a bin icon appears next to Filters — select it to clear everything at once.

Tip: "Not reporting" and the Low / Critical / Dead battery filters are the fastest way to build a morning check of trackers that need attention.

Copy a link to the view you're looking at

Your filters live in the page address, so a filtered map can be sent to someone as a link.

Set the filters you want.
Select the link icon at the top right of the page (Copy link to this view).
You'll see Link Copied — paste it into an email, a message, or a ticket.

Whoever opens it lands on the Live Map with those same filters already applied. Because it's a link into the Hapn app, they need a Hapn login with access to those assets. To show a location to someone who doesn't have an account, use a Live Link instead — see Using Live Links: Share Tracker Locations Without Account Access.

Save a view you use often

If it's a view you'll come back to, pin it instead of rebuilding the filters every time.

Set the filters you want.
Select the bookmark icon at the top right (Save view).
A Name this view box opens with a name already suggested, and a line telling you what the view captures. Keep the suggested name or type your own.
Select Save view. Cancel closes the box without saving.

Saved views are pinned to the top of the expanded sidebar under SAVED VIEWS. If your sidebar is collapsed to icons, expand it using the toggle at the bottom of the left-hand rail. Hapn describes it in the sidebar itself: "Filter a page, then hit Save view to pin that exact setup here."

The suggested name tells you which page the view came from and what was filtered — something like Live Map · Stopped — so if you're saving several, rename them for the job they do: Low battery check, Off-rent yard.

Which one should I use?

Just looking — filter, then clear it with the bin icon.
Sending it to a colleague — Copy link to this view.
You need it every day — Save view.
Sharing with someone outside your account — a Live Link.
