When you need to do the same thing to several trackers — tag them, change their status, switch their reporting mode, alert on them or run a report — you don't have to open them one by one. Pick them in the Full Asset List and act on all of them at once.
Applies to: the Hapn web app at app.gethapn.com.
Select the trackers
- On the Live Map, select Full Asset List at the top of the asset list. The list shows every asset with its status, model, reporting mode and IMEI.
- Tick the box next to each tracker you want. Use Find assets or Filters at the top to narrow the list first, or the box in the header row to select everything shown.
- An action bar appears at the bottom, showing how many are selected (for example 2 selected). The ✕ at its right clears the selection.
What you can do
- Create Alert — opens the alert wizard with the selected trackers already chosen, including the Quick start templates (Speeding over 70 mph, Leaves a place after hours, Battery under 20%). See How to Set Up Alerts and Notifications.
- Add to Alert — adds the selected trackers to an alert rule you already have. Pick the rule from Select an alert…, then Add to Alert.
- Run Report — runs a report for just these trackers. Pick it from Select a report…, then Generate Report. See Every Hapn Report and What's In It.
- Apply Tags — adds a tag to all of them. Search for an existing tag (each shows how many assets and places use it) or type a new one to create it. See Asset Statuses and Tags.
- Update Mode — sets the reporting mode for all of them: Performance, Regular, Normal, Predictable or Eco. Choose from Select a mode…, then Set Mode. A faster mode uses more battery on battery trackers — see Reporting Modes before changing a whole fleet.
- View in Map — shows only the selected trackers on the Live Map. Confirm with View in Map. The selection is kept in the page address, so you can copy a link to that view. See How to Filter the Live Map.
- Change Status — sets the same asset status (such as On-Rent, Off-Rent or Out of Service) on all of them. Pick it from Select a Status…, then Apply.
Names can't be changed in bulk — rename trackers one at a time from each tracker's settings.
Good uses
- Setting up a new fleet: tag everything into groups first (by site, crew or vehicle type), then filter by tag for everything else.
- Off-hire day: select the machines coming back and use Change Status.
- Seeing just a few assets: select them and use View in Map.
- Alerts for a group: select the group and use Create Alert, or Add to Alert to extend a rule you already have.
