Hapn offers several ways to view your tracker's previous locations and movement history. This guide covers the main methods available on both the web and mobile apps.
Contents
Using Time Machine (Recommended)
Time Machine provides the most intuitive way to view your tracker's historical routes and locations. It consists of two tabs — Trips and Timeline.
On the Web App
- Log in at app.gethapn.com
- Hover over the calendar icon on the left sidebar
- Click "Time Machine" — or go directly to app.gethapn.com/history
On the Mobile App
- Open the Hapn mobile app
- Tap the "History" icon in the bottom menu
Changing the Date and Time Range
The default time range is set to "Last 24 hours." To find specific trips or stops, click "Last 24 hours" and change it to your desired range: Today, Yesterday, Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or a custom range. If you have multiple trackers, use the tracker-specific filter to select the device you want to review.
Using the Trips Tab
The Trips tab shows the selected tracker's trips and stops for the chosen date and time range in chronological order, with the most recent first.
- Each Trip card displays the start time, start and end addresses, and trip length
- Each Stop card displays the start date and time, the duration, and the address
- Tap any Trip card to view further details — the route will appear on the map, along with associated tracker position details below the card
Using the Timeline Tab
Timeline provides a visual, video-like playback of your tracker's movements.
- Select your desired date range (Today, Yesterday, Last 24h, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or custom)
- Choose which tracker to view — you can view one tracker at a time
- Click on any point along the route to see details like time, speed, and address
The highlighted line shows where the tracker has been; the gray line shows where it will go next in the playback.
Viewing the Recent Trail Line
The Recent Trail Line displays a line of your tracker's movement for the day directly on the map — a quick way to see where your tracker has been without opening Time Machine.
On the Mobile App
- Tap the filter icon in the top right corner
- Tap "Overlays"
- Enable "Recent Trail Line"
