Business hours tell Hapn when your organization is normally operating, so you can separate what happens during the working day from what happens outside it. Once set, alerts and reports can be filtered by business hours.
Applies to: the Hapn web app at app.gethapn.com. You'll need admin access to Settings.
Why set them
A vehicle moving at 2pm on a Tuesday is usually just work. The same vehicle moving at 2am on a Sunday might not be. Business hours give Hapn that context, so you can look at out-of-hours activity on its own instead of reading every movement the same way.
Turn on business hours
- Go to Settings → Organization Platform Settings.
- Scroll to Business Hours.
- Turn on Enable Business Hours.
- Set the hours your organization operates.
- Select Save.
You can add multiple schedules for days with different hours — a shorter Friday, or a Saturday morning shift — rather than forcing every day to match.
Points worth knowing
- Business hours are set for the whole organization, not per user or per asset.
- They don't stop anything happening or change what your trackers record. They're a lens for filtering alerts and reports.
- Check your account time zone is right before relying on them, or the boundary between "in hours" and "out of hours" will be off. See How to Change Your Account Time Zone.
