Case Dimensions | 5.9" x 3.9" x 2.4" | 7" x 5" x 2.25" |
Charging Time | 4-6 hours | 12-14 hours |
Battery Life Extension | ~3x standard GL300 | ~12x standard GL300 |
Best For | Short to medium tracking needs, smaller size | Long-term tracking, extended deployment |
M4 Pro (60-Day) Case - Compact design with moderate battery extension
M6 Pro XL (90-Day) Case - Larger case with maximum battery extension
Battery Life Expectations
Your GL300 tracker normally has one 2,600 mAh battery. The extended battery cases significantly increase operating time:
Reporting Mode | Standard GL300 | GL300 w/ M4 Pro (60-Day) | GL300 w/ M6 Pro XL (90-Day) |
---|---|---|---|
Performance | ~9 days | ~18 days | ~36 days |
Fast | ~12 days | ~24 days | ~48 days |
Normal | ~13 days | ~30 days | ~52 days |
Power Saving | ~14 days | ~60 days | ~90 days |
Note: Actual battery life will vary based on:
- Signal strength in your area
- How frequently the device moves
- Temperature conditions
- Reporting mode settings
Setting Up Your Extended Battery Case
Installing Your GL300 in the Case
- Open your extended battery case
- Place the GL300 tracker inside the designated area
- Connect the power cable from the case to the mini USB port on your GL300:
- Make sure the rubber protective cover on the tracker is fully moved aside
- Firmly insert the connector until it's fully seated in the tracker
- Close and secure the case
Charging Your Battery Case
To charge your extended battery:
- Connect the included charging adapter to the female plug on the battery pack
- Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet
- Check the indicator light on the charging block:
- Red Light: Battery is currently charging
- Green Light: Battery is fully charged
- Allow sufficient time for a full charge:
- M4 Pro (60-Day): 4-6 hours
- M6 Pro XL (90-Day): 12-14 hours
Important: It's recommended to fully charge the battery pack before first use.
Monitoring Battery Life
Viewing Battery Percentages
The Hapn platform allows you to monitor both your tracker and extended battery case:
-
Default Display: The battery percentage shown in your Hapn app will display the combined power system (extended battery case when available)
-
Enable Separate Battery Monitoring:
- Go to your tracker settings in the Hapn platform
- Enable the option to view the extended battery percentage separately
- Once enabled, you'll be able to see both:
- Extended battery case percentage
- GL300 internal battery percentage
-
Power Transition: When the extended battery reaches 0%, the GL300 will automatically switch to its internal battery
Switch Configuration
If your extended battery case has a switchboard:
- Position all switches to the LEFT (toward the LED light)
- This ensures the battery pack supplies continuous power to your GL300 tracker
Note: Newer versions of the extended battery cases have a single connector cable instead of a switchboard. These require no configuration and work automatically.
Troubleshooting
If your extended battery case isn't working properly, try these solutions:
Connection Issues
- Check the mini USB connection between the battery pack and GL300
- Ensure the rubber port cover is fully moved out of the way
- Verify the connector is firmly and completely inserted into the tracker's port
Power Delivery Problems
- Verify switch positions if your case has a switchboard (all switches to the left)
- Confirm the battery pack has sufficient charge
- Test charging the battery pack - the charging adapter should show a red light when charging
Charging Problems
- Ensure you're using the correct charging port (the female plug with black wire)
- Verify your wall outlet is working
- Check that the charging adapter light illuminates when plugged in
- Allow sufficient charging time for your model (4-6 hours for M4, 12-14 hours for M6)
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are the extended battery cases waterproof?
A: The cases provide water resistance but are not fully waterproof. Avoid submerging or exposing them to heavy rain for extended periods.
Q: Can I charge the GL300 and the battery pack at the same time?
A: No, you should only charge the extended battery pack through its dedicated charging port. The pack will then power the GL300.
Q: How do I know when to recharge the extended battery?
A: Monitor the battery percentage in the Hapn app. We recommend recharging when the battery level drops below 20%.
Q: Why are they called 60-Day and 90-Day battery packs?
A: These names reflect the approximate maximum battery life when used in Power Saving mode. The M4 Pro can last up to 60 days and the M6 Pro XL up to 90 days in optimal conditions.
Q: Does the battery pack charge the tracker?
A: No, the battery pack does not charge the GL300. The tracker uses the battery packs power first and then switches to the tracker once the battery level reaches 0%.
