Light Indicator Basics
Your Asset Tracker has two LED indicators that communicate its status:
- BLUE Light (GPS Light): Indicates GPS/satellite connectivity status
- GREEN Light (Status Light): Indicates cellular connectivity status
Note: During normal tracking operation, no lights will be visible. This is intentional to conserve battery power.
Power-On Sequence
When turning on your Asset Tracker from a powered-off state:
-
Press and hold the face button
- No lights will appear for approximately 3 seconds
- Both blue and green lights will then illuminate solid for 1 second
- Action: Release the button as soon as you see the lights
-
Connection Process Begins
-
BLUE light (GPS): Will flash while searching for satellites
- Becomes solid briefly when connected
- Then turns off completely
-
GREEN light (Cellular): Will flash rapidly while searching for cellular network
- Changes to slow flashing when connected
- Then turns off completely
-
BLUE light (GPS): Will flash while searching for satellites
-
Connection Complete
- When both lights turn off, the device is operating normally
- The device is now tracking and sending location data
Important: For new devices or those with fully depleted batteries (0%), the first button press only activates the power-on sequence. The tracker isn't actively tracking until the connection process completes.
Standard Operation
During normal tracking operation:
- No lights will be visible on the Asset Tracker
- This is normal and helps preserve battery life
- The device continues to track and transmit location data
Lights will only activate when:
- The face button is pressed
- The SOS function is activated
- The device is placed on a charging pad
Charging Status Indicators
Charging Pad Indicators
-
Initial Power Connection:
- Brief red light flash
- Brief green light flash
- Solid green light (ready for use)
-
During Charging:
- Solid green light changes to pulsing red when tracker is properly placed
- Pulsing red continues until the tracker is removed, even when fully charged
-
After Charging:
- Returns to solid green when tracker is removed
Asset Tracker Indicators During Charging
-
Charging in Progress:
- Both blue and green lights flash simultaneously (approximately once per second)
-
Fully Charged:
- Both blue and green lights illuminate solid (no flashing)
- The tracker can now be removed from the charging pad
Quick Reference Chart
Situation | Blue Light (GPS) | Green Light (Cellular) | Charging Pad |
---|---|---|---|
Powering On | Flashing → Solid → Off | Rapid flashing → Slow flashing → Off | N/A |
Normal Operation | Off | Off | N/A |
Charging in Progress | Flashing simultaneously | Flashing simultaneously | Pulsing red |
Fully Charged | Solid | Solid | Pulsing red |
Charging Pad Ready | N/A | N/A | Solid green |
Troubleshooting Light Patterns
No lights when pressing face button:
- Battery may be completely depleted
- Place on charging pad for at least 30 minutes, then try again
- If still unresponsive, contact support
Continuous rapid flashing of green light:
- Indicates difficulty connecting to cellular network
- Move to an area with better cellular coverage
- Try again after a few minutes
Blue light continues to flash without becoming solid:
- GPS signal may be obstructed
- Move to an open area with clear view of the sky
- Allow up to 10 minutes for satellite acquisition
