Buttons, Lights, and Ports
Physical Features
- Multifunction (SOS) Button: Located on the outside of the device at the opposite end from the lights

Getting Started With Your Device
Step 1 - Locate Your IMEI
Locate the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number on your camera. The number is 15 characters long and is printed on the device label. You will need to enter it to set up your account.
Step 2 - Activate Your Dash Camera
- From your computer or smartphone, go to: gethapn.com/activate
- Follow the activation steps. Tip: Keep your device IMEI handy.
- Login to the tracking app by:
• Going to app.gethapn.com from your computer
• Downloading our mobile apps:
○ Download Hapn for iOS from the App Store
○ Download Hapn for Android from Google Play
Once you're logged into your tracking applications, you'll need to make sure your camera is connected by following the steps below.
Step 3 - Installation
Windshield Mount
- Clean the windshield mounting area thoroughly
- Attach the mounting bracket using the 3M adhesive tape
- Mount the device to the bracket
- Position the camera to face forward with a clear view of the road
OBD Port Installation
- Use the OBD adapter (included)

Plug into vehicle's OBD port
Step 4 - Initial Power-Up and Testing
- Connect power to the device using your chosen installation method
- Verify all LED lights are functioning
- Take the vehicle for a 10-15 minute drive to allow GPS to acquire signal
- Check the Hapn platform to confirm the device is reporting location correctly

- Reporting intervals can be configured from 5 seconds to hours, depending on your needs
- Video recordings are stored on the internal SIM card (supports up to 128GB) and the camera supports up to 256 GB card.
- Videos can be accessed through the Media Library feature in the Hapn platform
- Event snapshots are automatically uploaded for quick review
- The device captures Full HD (1080p) footage with a wide-angle lens (>140° field of view)
- Optional driver-facing camera available for comprehensive cabin monitoring
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Platform says the device is in New Jersey or shows an old location.
A: Verify the lights are functioning properly and take the vehicle for a 10-15 minute drive to allow the device to acquire GPS signal and report location.
Q: What should I do if my device says "last updated X days ago"?
A: Verify that the LED lights indicate proper operation and the device is properly positioned with clear sky view. If the problem persists, try pressing the SOS button (long press 3+ seconds) or contact support@gethapn.com
Q: How do I access recorded video footage?
A: Log into the Hapn platform and navigate to the Media Library feature. Event snapshots are automatically uploaded, and you can request full video uploads as needed.
Q: Can I add a driver-facing camera?
A: Yes, an optional driver-facing camera accessory is available that works natively with the CV200 device and the Hapn platform.
Q: The device is not updating. What should I do?
A: First, check that all LED lights indicate proper operation. Take the vehicle for a 10-15 minute drive. If still not updating, try the reset button under the side flap. If issues persist, contact support@gethapn.com
Troubleshooting
Device Reset Procedures
- Soft Reset (SOS Button): Long press the multifunction SOS button for 3+ seconds
- Hard Reset: Remove the side flap and press the reset button underneath
Common Issues and Solutions
Issue: No LED lights illuminated
Solution: Check power connections and verify operating voltage is between 8V-32V DC
Issue: GPS light (blue) is slow blinking
Solution: Device cannot acquire GPS signal. Ensure device has clear view of sky and is not surrounded by metal. Reposition if necessary.
Issue: Cell light (green) is slow blinking
Solution: No cellular network connection. Check that you're in an area with cellular coverage. Device may need time to register on network.
Issue: Recording light (white) is slow blinking or not recording
Solution: Check that Flash card is properly inserted and has available storage. Try reformatting the Flash card (will erase all data).

Warranty
The Spytec GPS 6-month hardware warranty covers products purchased online or from an authorized retailer. Products under warranty qualify for an exchange with a valid receipt and an active subscription and is non-transferable.
The warranty does NOT cover:
- Compatibility or functionality problems caused by actions or technology of third parties
- Damages from improper use, including use of incompatible accessories
- Unauthorized modifications to the device
- Negligence, environmental or natural disasters
- Loss, theft, or water damage
Devices that are covered will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Spytec GPS. Devices requiring replacement will be fulfilled with a new or refurbished unit, or a similar unit if the original is no longer available.
