This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly charging your GL 501/521 Asset Tracker using the wireless charging equipment.
Step-by-Step Charging Instructions

Assemble the charging equipment
- Place the charging pad into the tray
- The blank side of the pad should face up
- The side with writing and rubber feet should face down

Connect power
- Insert the charging cable through either opening in the tray
- Plug the cable into the charging pad
- Connect the power adapter to an electrical outlet

Verify that the charging pad is ready
- When first connected to power, the pad will display:
- A flash of red light
- A flash of green light
- Then a solid green light
- The solid green light indicates the pad is powered and ready for use
- When first connected to power, the pad will display:

Place Asset Tracker on charging pad
- Position the Asset Tracker centered on the charging pad
- When properly positioned, the pad's light will change from solid green to pulsing red
- The Asset Tracker's blue and green lights will begin flashing in tandem (simultaneously) approximately once per second

Monitor charging status

Charging in progress:
- Asset Tracker: Both blue and green lights flash together at the same time, approximately once per second
- Charging pad: Displays a pulsing/blinking red light

Charging complete:
- Asset Tracker: Both blue and green lights illuminate solid (no flashing)
- Charging pad: Continues to display a pulsing red light until the device is removed

Charging in progress:

Remove from charging pad
- When charging is complete, lift the Asset Tracker off the pad
- The charging pad light will return to solid green, indicating it's ready for the next use
Important Notes
- The charging pad's pulsing red light will continue even after the tracker is fully charged
- If no lights appear on the Asset Tracker when placed on the charging pad, reposition it to ensure proper alignment
- The Asset Tracker lights will only activate during charging - during normal operation, no lights are displayed
- If you encounter charging issues, ensure the tracker is properly centered on the charging pad
