This guide explains the meaning of the light indicators on your Asset Tracker device and their patterns during various operations.
Light Indicator Definitions
- BLUE Light: Indicates GPS/satellite connectivity status
- GREEN Light: Indicates cellular connectivity status
Power-On Sequence
When activating your Asset Tracker from a powered-off state:
- Press and hold the face button - No lights appear for 3 seconds, then both lights illuminate together solid for a second. Release the button when you see any lights on.
- Satellite Connection - BLUE light flashes while searching for satellites; becomes solid momentarily when connected, then turns off
- Cellular Connection - GREEN light flashes rapidly while searching for cellular network; flashes slowly several times when connected, then turns off
Standard Operation
- During normal operation, the Asset Tracker displays no lights to conserve battery power
- Light indicators activate only when the face button is pressed to power on or SOS, or when the device is placed on a charging pad
SOS Function
After device activation, the face button serves as the SOS function:
- Press and hold the face button
- Both lights will illuminate solid for 3 seconds
- Both lights will then flash in unison once per second, indicating active SOS mode
Charging Indicator Lights
When using the wireless charging system for your Asset Tracker:
Charging Pad Indicators
- When first plugged in: The pad displays a flash of red, followed by a flash of green, then solid green
- Solid green light: Pad is powered and ready for use (no device on pad)
- Pulsing red light: Asset Tracker is placed on the pad
- Pulsing red light continues until the device is physically removed from the pad, even when fully charged
Asset Tracker Indicators During Charging
- While charging: Both blue and green lights flash in tandem (simultaneously) approximately once per second
- When fully charged: Both lights illuminate solid
When the Asset Tracker is removed from the charging pad, the pad light returns to solid green.
Important Information
- For new devices or those with fully depleted batteries (0%), the initial face button press activates the power-on sequence
- The SOS function becomes available only after the device is powered on
- The absence of lights during standard operation is normal and indicates proper device function
