How Long Does the Battery Last on the Rechargeable Asset Tracker?

The Rechargeable Asset Tracker features an integrated rechargeable battery that powers the tracker. How long the battery lasts depends on which Reporting Mode the device is set to.  Below, we've included how long the battery lasts, separated by Reporting Mode:  

💡The default Reporting Mode is Normal Mode. The tracker updates every 10 minutes when moving and every 12 hours when stopped. 

Where can I see my tracker's current battery life?

Factors that will affect the battery life: 

• Hours traveled: Generally speaking when a tracker is on the move for long periods of time, the faster the battery can be depleted. For example, a 10-hour trip will deplete the battery faster than a 2-hour trip. 
  
  
• Temperature: The operating temperature range is -4°F to approximately 131°F. If the temperature is outside of this range, the tracker will have a difficult time functioning and, as a result, the battery can drain quickly. 
  
  
• GPS signal strength: The tracker uses a GPS signal to report its location. If your tracker does not have a signal, it will continue to search for a signal, which can drain the battery. To ensure your tracker does not lose GPS signal, you'll want to check the placement and make sure it is not in an enclosed space. 
  
  
• Cell signal strength: The tracker uses a cell signal to report its location in real time. If a tracker loses a cell signal, it will continue to search for a signal. During this time, if your tracker has a GPS connection, your tracker will collect and store the locations. When your tracker reconnects to the cellular network, it will immediately report all of the information stored, which can cause the battery to drain significantly.
